Comment:  Don't chalk it up to a rotten experience.
It isn't.  And it certainly isn't because she's a rotten person.

How do you know what's going on in her life?

How would you feel if your friend expected you to drop your 
activities just so you cater to their whims?

Try talking over your feelings with her.  Also try to 
remember that some people need to have a private life
away from even their closest friends.
