Something else: Listen to your parents.

For the longest time my father told me "Like mother, like
daughter." 

I didn't listen to him (somehow I believe that his father told him
the exact same thing and /he/ didn't listen either), and in fact, 
told him that he was wrong wrong. Silly me. Fortunately I found out
that he was right before it was too late... (and he had the good
heart not to tell me "I told you so")
