First, you find a clean, well equipped work room.

Then you carefully remove the top of your Magnavox unit and locate
the laser/pickup assembly.

Very carefully you remove this assembly (set aside for possible later
use).

Then you replace that assembly with as costly a moving coil pickup
as you can afford.
