Lines: 17 I am trying to compile a list of different electronic sensing and control devices which might be used in homes. For instance: security systems, intelligent heating controllers, light controllers, etc. If anyone knows of these or other such devices, I would appreciate knowing who makes them, what they do, and any other interesting information. I have also heard of people who have connected various devices of this sort to a personal computer with/without modem to control them all from a central location. Do devices like this often have a standard serial or parallel interface that could be easily hooked to a computer, or would they need to be modified extensively? If I get enough responses by mail, I'll post them to the net. {sun, pesnta}!parallel!den (In real life: Dennis Briscoe @ Parallel Computers)
