I have seen a power meter like what was described for sale at a
store called "Brookstone" (?) in Dallas (Valley View mall).  It measured
the kilo-watts used by whatever was plugged into it.  I don't know all
the details.  The store sells a lot of gaget type items and I believe that
they have a catalog.

As I recall, the unit was about $80, if anyone is interested, I'll
verify the name and  look up the address.  Mail me if you want the address.
