I'd been meaning to start this conversation myself. BUT what I want is
the kind of bread pudding that's served in a Creole or New Orleans style
restaurant, with a whiskey custard sauce. Once, I even had one where
they'd marinated the bread in red wine first. You felt like you could
get drunk on the pudding itself, it was really fabulous.

Anyone have any recipes like that?

Incidently, one of my friends considered bread pudding to be cafeteria
food 'til I had her eat the pudding at the Elite Cafe in San Francisco ...
an immediate convert!
