What makes it so difficult, I think, is that in fact, there is not a "maze of oddly angled rooms", as the game allows you to believe. There is but one oddly angled room, which you are wandering around in. With this in mind, the solution may be easier. What do the glowy thingies on the floor resemble? How many of them are there?
