You probably wouldn't be laughing at much else either, including very witty intellectual inoffensive jokes that we like to share. In fact, yes I think that a lot of Ethiopian jokes are offensive and should be ROT-13'd before posting, just like a lot of other offensive jokes. I am not offended very easily, and always ROT-13 (decode) any ROT-13'd joke. If a joke exhibits a libellous sort of offence (e.g. inciting racism, depending on people to really believe that some ethnic group is inferior), then I am offended. Some early Ethiopian jokes said "poor taste" in their headings. That may be more accurate. They still should be ROT-13'd. There is still no justification to ban them. -- Norman Diamond UUCP: {decvax|utzoo|ihnp4|allegra}!watmath!watdaisy!ndiamond CSNET: ndiamond%watdaisy@waterloo.csnet ARPA: ndiamond%watdaisy%waterloo.csnet@csnet-relay.arpa "Opinions are those of the keyboard, and do not reflect on me or higher-ups."
