I do some development work for a software firm that produces microcomputer software for the oil and mineral exploration industries. Last week at a professional conference for exploration geologists we were told by representatives from Chevron, Amoco and Marathon that it is grounds for immediate dismissal if any employee illegally copies a piece of software!
