We're officially recognized by the University!!! The group has several functions: Last fall we got a bus for the Charlotte show, and we're going to try to do that for other nearby shows. As you might guess, much of the activity is exchanging information (facts, rumors, and otherwise) about the Dead. We're trying to get a tape library organized, so we can all expand our collections. If anybody has some ideas on how to set this up on a Unix system, I'd be glad to hear them. Other plans include having a tie-dye party to make shirts for the club, which we could sell to fund our trips. Maybe we should have a bake sale, too. It's great to see people enthusiastic enough to do something like this, gathering to share some common interest. Are there any other clubs like this? Let's hear about 'em! a l s o . . . The Dead played two hot shows in Hampton last weekend. It looks like nobody else is going to post them, so here are the set lists: Hampton, VA 3/21/85 Alabama Getaway-> China Cat-> I Know You Rider Greatest Story Playing in the Band-> They Love Each Other hot jam-> Drums-> Space El Paso The Wheel-> Tennessee Jed The Other One -> Ain't Superstitious Wharf Rat Looks Like Rain Johnny B. Goode Might As Well Around and Around (Keep Your) Day Job Hampton, VA 3/22/85 Feels Like a Stranger Scarlet Begonias -> Cold Rain & Snow Hell In a Bucket CC Rider Ship of Fools Brown Eyed Woman Terrapin-> Cassidy Truckin'-> Big RR Blues Smokestack Lightning -> Brother Esau Black Peter -> Don't Ease Me In Sugar Magnolia It's All Over Now Baby Blue "Bucket" was a *big* surprise, coming out of Scarlet the way it did - the crowd seemed to love it. Many of the tunes were the same ones played last Spring at Hampton, but that wouldn't have been as noticeable if I hadn't been listening to last year's show over and over. Like they say, the faster you go, the rounder you get. Tom Edds UNC-CH Psychometricks ...decvax!mcnc!unc!psyche!edds "Crippled but free, I was blind all the time I was learning to see."
