A big burly policman was dragging an apparrently terrified young man out of the arena. It was really not clear why this was happening, but the victim was putting up a trendous amount of resistance. THe cop was literally pulling him by his hair and manhandling him in such a way as to cause serious damage if it continued. The cop had dragged him to the door and the young man was holding onto the door frame for dear life. A crowd started to gather around, but everyone was justifiably cautious about interfering. One brave soul, a man in his mid 30's, approached the cop and kid and tried to mediate the situation. He pushed the cops hand away from the kid hair, and picked the kid up by his feet, as though to help remove him in a more humane manner. But the cop persisted. Suddenly, the crowd spontaneously approached closer and the cop, being distracted, let go and the kid got away. The End. -- larry kolodney (The Devil's Advocate) UUCP: ...{ihnp4, decvax!genrad}!mit-eddie!lkk ARPA: lkk@mit-mc
