To my knowledge, the only USA summer ski *resorts* are here in Oregon.  Mt.
Bachelor is about 4 hrs drive from Portland and is the area's most popular
destination resort.  Mt. Hood is ~1 hour from Portland and has a faithful
day-use crowd all summer.  Both areas close after Labor Day (September!)
due to lack of interest, not snow.  See the latest issue of Nordic World for
an article on summer skiing, with about a full page devoted to Oregon.  Other
summer skiing in USA (don't know about Canada) is hike-up or hire a
helicopter.  That's why I moved here!
