	I remember hearing somewhere that the Beast's name, Melrooney,
was an anagram for  L. Ron O'Leemy  (or is that used  in the book?   I
haven't read it for some time, and wasn't too thrilled by it  anyway),
one of Heinlein's pen names way back when.
