As a first generation decendent of the Bahamas, I have to tell you to take another look at that country before you label the wole thing a tourist trap. The Bahamas consists of over 700 islands; only 50 or so are even populated! Basically, three of them (Freeport on Grand Bahama Island and Nassau/Paradise Island) are touristy. The rest, known as the Out Islands, are largely secluded tropical paradises. The trick, however, is that they're not as easy to get to as the touristy places. Please talk to a travel agent about Bimini, Eleuthra, and other such islands before you discount the Bahamas. I might also mention that if you're interested in untraveled tropical hideaways, you should take another look around the entire Carribean. Who ever heard of Granada before Raygun put it on the map? Have you ever seriously considered a visit to the Island of Dominica (*not* the Dominican Republic)? -- Mark A. ...uw-beaver!ssc-vax!adolph "When a fly lands on the ceiling, does it do a half roll or a half loop?"
