Not everyone's is finite. Furthermore, people in a relationship (in this case two, but the situation generalizes) change. These changes may be independent of the relationship, part of it, or because of it. (Flame on) It's stupid to categorize people. In the societal sense, this is called racism, prejudice and biggotry. In a more personal sense, what are you going to do when you think of something that you forgot to put on your list -- after 2 years of marriage. (Flame off) On the other hand, perhaps a probabalistic model is appropriate: 25% and you talk to the person in the hall, 25% and you listen to what the response is ( -:) 50% and you invite the person for dinner, etc. /David
