I posted this to the net a little under a year ago. He was *not* in the TV episode. ANd, yes, he *could've* been a jounior officer working int the Enterprise laundry room or something. So, there'd be an explanation for why he remembers Khan, but not how Khan could know him. (Actually, Khan was probably just being polite.
