Dept. of Labor, Emp. Train. Adm. Q. C. Group , Wash DC. Lines: 14 Xref: watmath net.wanted:6122 net.wanted.sources:685 We recently purchased 12 racal-vadic model 831 auto ans/auto dial modems. These work fine for dial-up purposes, but, I am having a devil of a time getting to connect when they call out. I'm running Ultrix-32 V1.0 on an 11/750, and am using 2 racks, each rack with it's own 811 acu, both of which are tied into an 831 rs-232 adapter. The dialer and adapter place the call with no problem, but when the modem comes on line and tries to synch up, it just doesn't seem to want to connect. I've tried all kinds of combinations in the L.sys file, but to no avail. Any suggestions, comments, or whatever would be greatly appriciated. I'm just about to the point of turning the flamethrower on incinerate and frying the whole blasted rack. Thanks in advance.....
