If truth were known I would spend my days skiing, sailing, bicycling, and just putzing around. Much, if not all, of my career orientation comes from the need to have income (I like spending so much!). Since I do need to have a job I might as well do something I like and do it well, hopefully well enough to be recognized for my efforts and abilities - I don't intend to work hard just to get ahead. This doesn't truly reflect on what Sophie said, career is one of those words that I have a knee-jerk reaction to. Peter Barbee
