Gee, maybe it did have something to do with it :) I've been active in the abortion issue now for 18 years so this statement provides a small chuckle. The original coorelation between child abuse and abortion's legality originated in the pro-choice camp. There, someone, to the tune of their own logic I guess, decided that if a woman didn't want a child but was prevented from aborting it then that child would be unwanted. Since it did have a logical sound to it, someone made it a statement a fact. As a result immeasurable harm came to the pro-life groups as people said "who wants battered children, let's support abortion". Finally evidence was produced (and I don't believe either side refutes the evidence) that at the least showed no effect but even hints at the opposite effects. At least Mr. Noah is working from facts. Mike Johnston
