	In a review of DINNER AT THE DEVIANT'S PALACE, E.
Leeper referred to THE GATES OF ANUBIS as the author's "first"
book.  In fact, before that he wrote THE DRAWING OF THE DARK, a
fantasy set in the seventeenth century (I think) at the
Turkish siege of Vienna. Like ANUBIS, it is full of vivid
detail; it is good reading.
	The "dark" referred to is a *very* special beer.
