GNU emacs (version 15, soon to be released from mit-prep and from thence
to other channels --- watch an info-gnu-emacs near you for details) now runs
on at least two 68000 systems (megatest and sun)

It is hoped that future ports to 68000 (4.2 only at the present time, though
a number of efforts in other directions are underway) will be essentially
strightforward (excluding the remote possibility that something has buggier
system code than the sun)

RMS has remodularized emacs compilation dependencies to facilitate bringing
up emacs in new environments.
