It may be that the mothers could have taken their kids to eat at 2:30, but if they are hungry at 11 it seems rather cruel to make them wait 2 and a half hours for lunch. Do you see the *same* women every day for lunch? If so, then it may be that they schedule lunch at your lunch time for no reason other than they like it -- but then, mom may have to drop one of them off at pre-school or take onother to violin class or something. If you see different women with different kids every day for lunch then I would assume that they are all out shopping. I have gone shopping with my neices and nephews. It is about the most gruelling thing I have ever done. You cannot shop quickly, because kids don't walk fast and because they are interested in everything and you have to let them watch whatever it is and then answer a dozen questions about it. When they get bored, they get cranky and make a fuss. When they are tired they get cranky and make a fuss. When they are hungry they get cranky and make a fuss. However, kids can be bribed. Telling them to behave well, and *then* we can go to *a restaurant* for lunch -- this works. However, unless you want to cheat you then have to pay up and take them to a restaurant for lunch. And kids know when it is lunch time -- and like you, they don't think 2:30 is a reasonable lunch time. I don't blame them -- I *like* eating lunch at 2:30 and think that 11:30 is altogether too early to eat lunch -- so they must feel the same way. Laura Creighton utzoo!laura
