Message-ID: <410@usl.UUCP> Date: Wed, 10-Apr-85 18:54:43 EST Article-I.D.: usl.410 Posted: Wed Apr 10 18:54:43 1985 Date-Received: Sat, 13-Apr-85 03:39:09 EST Organization: The Research Pit Lines: 29 Hey Netters, Just saw on INN News the following case... 1. Family A leaves home on vacation 2 Child of family B trespasses home A's garden and plays there. 3 Child of family B, while playing, accidentaly hits his/her head on a stone of A's garden. 4 Child A is injured, and is put in the Intensive Care Unit of a hospital for a while. 5 Family of B sues family of A for negligence (sp?), asking for 5 Million Bucks. The morale: with 100-200 dollars additional a year all you yuppies can buy additional insurance for ANY kind of event that can happen in your house. The question: are these guys for real? even at the worst case (the best case of a huge award is most probable since many lawyers snatch a percent of total award as fees), family A will waste a hell of a lot of time, bucks and energy on the subject. The flame: is this what all children want to do when they grow up? did you think like this before? Ken (arndt), you are right! blasting people is the only way out of such situations! -- Spiros President, -- USL Computer Science Dept.
