"Soda" predominates in New York City.  I've seen it at SUNY Albany,
but the University may differ with the rest of Albany.  (Students
from downstate.) West of the Hudson, "pop" seems to lead.

To me "soda" is something you sprinkle in water and wash floors with,
and "pop" is any sweet soft drink, carbonated or not.
