Actually here in Los Angeles last week a man died in police custody after having been subdued by a shot from a taser. I believe the reported cause of death was a heart attack. The police were claiming it was probably due to the drugs the man was allegedly high on rather than any result of the high voltage from the taser. As usual the reporting of the event ended within a couple of days and I haven't heard what the coroners report was (assuming it has been completed).
