I have a CRX 1.5 ( automatic ). I've had it since October '84 and
enjoy it a lot. I get around 33 mpg - it depends on whether its
highway or city/rush-hour traffic. It can be worse. 

My biggest complaint is it has minor problems starting in cold
weather. I hear that's not unique to the civic though. Other 84 &
85 Honda's are the same. It has a rattle we haven't been able to
get rid of; apparently that isn't unique to us either - most of
the CRX's have that problem
