I have just become interested in RTTY and have a question.

Can I use my modem (Vic modem to be specific) to receive Ascii Rtty 
directly from my shortwave receiver?  What would happen if I hooked up
the receiver output to the input of the modem and then just used a 
terminal program?  Does anybody out there have experience doing this?

Could I modify the terminal program to decode baudot also?
