Since then I made a call to the repair shop and they told me that CMI was the mfgr. They confirmed that CMI is the source of most of the problems. They also told me that IBM is now shipping AT's without hard disks. The repair shop recommended that I install an "I2" (I-squared) disk drive which they say has a good track record. It seems like the repair shop is stuck waiting for IBM to figure out what is wrong with the disk. So far it has been @2 months. Peter Meng
