Does anyone know of any UNIX-based CAI (Computer-Aided Instruction) authoring systems? I'm going to be writing a bunch of on-line courses and I want to use an authoring system for it, rather than start from scratch. The two that I know of are "CAST", from MC^2, and AT&T's Instructional Workbench (IWB). I would like to know if there are any more out there before I make a recommendation to purchase either one. What I'm looking for is a system with an authoring language, rather than just templates, and the ability to pull actual UNIX programs and files in as called. I would appreciate any pointers to products. I would even welcome letters or calls from actual vendors of these products. Thanks in advance, Heather Emanuel Raytheon Submarine Signal Division P.O.
