They aren't expensive and there is a provision for a lifetime warranty. The marine electronics retailers I know swear by them because they never back to the shop. Standard Communications makes several models . . . all synthesized. I don't own a Standard Communications now, but my Pierce Simpson breaks next time (#4) I'll buy their U.S.A. model with 55 channels.
