Much thinner than a Frisbee, center is empty, so a flying ring. Little spoiler on it, too. Due to lack of surface area, it won't hover like a Frisbee. However, as long as it has a bit of air speed, it has great lift and very little drag. Very hard to get used to. You stand there ready to catch it, it's 4 feet above your head but far away. No panic. So it gets close, it's 3.5 feet above your head instead of level with it like a Frisbee would be. Too late, you realize it isn't going to drop in time for you to catch, and you find yourself running like hell to get it. These things, in other words, fly very far. Frisbee fans should pick one up soon, but get a BIG field to practice on. We stand about 2-3 times farther apart than we do with Frisbees, which means left/right errors are magnified 2-3 times. They'd be killer on a Frisbee golf course. -- - Joel McCormack {ihnp4 decvax ucbvax allegra}!decwrl!joel joel@decwrl.arpa
