I must admit that I do take Paul as a higher authority than modern Christian writers (even C.S. Lewis who I adore) but I do disagree with some of his ideas, and I find that they do contradict the words of Christ. There is, however, a lot of good and a lot of wisdom in the epistles, and I would not ignore them just because there are a few ideas that I don't agree with. I've had a lot of problems with people that take the word of Paul without any further thought. But like I said, there is a lot of good there. In fact, (I don't have my Bible with me now) but I believe that it's I Corinthians chapter 13 (maybe II Corinthians) that is one of my favorites. It's an old standard, I know, but I still love it. elizabeth (Lady Godiva)
