While I *ABSOLUTELY DO NOT* want to get involved in a discussion of morality and I (probably) do not approve of this type of activity (for myself only, note that I don't go around preaching the evils of prostitution), I would like to point out one thing (then I'll leave this alone, because, yes, it is a little off the beaten path): If it were legal, many of these pitfalls would not exist. If one or a group of 'working girls' could set up an office in a complex (like a lawyer or family doctor or dentist) then the arrest, harassment, brutality (they could hire a bodyguard for the office), and pimps (unnecesary) would go away. The drugs could still be a problem if they wanted it to be, however the 'more civilized' environment might also encourage a reduction in drug use (if you're not around it...). This is ONLY a comment, not to be construed as a possible solution to a social problem. I have a friend who says that if all drugs were leagalized, it would solve the smuggling problem (which is true), however, I don't think that makes it a good idea. We re-legalized drinking and bootlegging went away (for the most part), but we still obviously have a problem with it. I'll tell you the solution: Legalize everything... and tax the hell out of it!! :-) I know, I know, move any more discussion to net.legal!
