All roads are being paid for today anyway, by someone or other, usually the taxpayers. By making all roads toll roads, payments will reflect true cost to a much greater extent (which also yields greater accountability and less waste). In case you're interested, Murray Rothbard discusses this issue in "For a New Liberty," and Reason magazine frequently features articles on this and related issues. Incidentally, I was somewhat taken aback myself when I first encountered the idea while reading Rothbard. Mike Sykora
