This poem was written after my dorm-room neighbor was found alone at his
home over Christmas break in '81 with a self inflicted shotgun wound to the
head.

I don't know why.

This poem isn't for Danny.  He just helped me write it.

I want to be a candle
With a flame high and bright.

But I don't want to live forever,
And will try with all my might
To be a candle burning
