My guess (and it is a guess) would be to leave the teflon for
frying pans.

Think about it.  How much do auto manufacturers spend on R&D?  Quite a
bit.  I would think that if teflon coatings were truly beneficial, the
auto makers would be using them form the factory.

Then again...
