Another explanation for the difference in shirts is that it is easier for a woman holding a child to button her blouse with the present arrangement of buttons. Also, many historical traditions have biblical roots. Under the law of the Lord, it is forbidden for a man to wear a woman's clothes or a woman to wear a man's clothes. Clothing makers were no doubt aware that the sexes WANTED different looking clothing, and so made shirts significantly different for each sex.
