The basic image is this big inexorable mass of *nothing* that slowly engulfs the many worlds of imagination. But a small part remains and from this small part an entirely new universe regenerates... Wasn't this "The NeverEnding Story"? I don't claim that the idea was copied; it took me weeks to figure out just where in the murk of my memory this image was already buried, and where it came from. But it'd be interesting to know how well Mr. Wolfman liked the book or movie. (hey, the idea of "an image buried in the murk of memory" is also used in another part of the NeverEnding Story. And I didn't even *like* the book!) -- Mike Urban {ucbvax|decvax}!trwrb!trwspp!spp2!urban "You're in a maze of twisty UUCP connections, all alike"
