Local municipalities buy power from OH and in turn retail it to the citizens. Ontario Hydro requires the local Hydro boards to submit an estimate of conmsumption and peak usage, there are penalties based on not following to these estimates. What Peterborough (a small town in Ontario) did is supply Water heaters to new homes that could be signalled off from the central Control If Peterborough Hydro thought that they might go over the estimate for peak, then they reduced the load to protect from going over...nifty huh -- ~~ Mike Upmalis (mupmalis@watarts)
