In regards to the request for a New Orleans type bread pudding:

It seems to me that the type of recipe you are talking about was
presented on the public network show "The Great Chefs of New Orleans".  If
you don't want to watch every show looking for it, there is a cookbook
based on the show.  If you've never seen it, its a great series.  It is
on Denver channel 12 at 5:00 (I'm not sure which night).  Channel 12 runs
a cooking show at 5:00 each week night.
