Lines: 22 Oh yeh, one more thing-- One of the reasons we get screaming kids in restaurants is that the waiter/esses haven't the first notion of how to deal with the situation. This may not be necessary training for Ma Maison, but it is absolutely INVALUABLE at Denny's and gets a big tip at Victoria Station. I don't know how many times I've gone to lunch or dinner with my kid and had the waiter/ess serve ME first, and say "the _________ is coming". Or, forgotten the drink I asked to be brought right away. It's amusing if your kid isn't crying (and annoying if she is) to ASK for coffee for the adult and milk for the kid, only to get the coffee but not the milk. I've worked in restaurants all through college, and I always brought crackers and a bowl of ice for the kid to play with when I saw a family sit down. It was ALWAYS appreciated, and it ALMOST always worked. As for the s**t who suggest that women with kids have nothing better to do than get in the way of his meal. . .well. . .we all recognise satire when we see it, don't we?
