Mr. Berman, did you ever read about what power the Nazi propaganda machine
had over the German people? These people were convinced that they were the
master race; they were not convinced by their own "natural" supperiority
complex. That is a bunch of baloney!!!!! They were convinced by the propaganda
coming out from the Ministry of Herr Goebells. Yes, the crimes done by the
47(if they did any; not all SS men were butchers, just as not all G.I.'s were
hard-fighting liberating good guys; war is a hellish game played by both sides)
were wrong and maybe came from the inner sadistic desires of such people. But,
not in all cases.

Also, don't throw the babies(literally; some of the later "Nazi" soldiers
were 13 and 12 and 11) out with the bath water. I do not condone violence or
war, but many German soldiers were conscripts, unwilling conscripts(Funny how
the Allies conscripts were always willing;on this point, I'm not adequately
informed to make a judgement). They were forced to fight for something they
DID NOT believe in. They sufferred in Allied P.O.W. camps(not
anywhere near as much as in German camps, but they did suffer). In other words,
not every German soldier was a Nazi. Most weren't.

I do not condone the Contras, nor do I condone the work of the SS; however, I
also do not condone prejudices, whether against the German people of the 1940's,
or the Judaic people of today, or the Republicans of today, or of the Mormons oftoday, or of the Black people of today, or of the British people of the 1770's,
or of the Irish people of today, or of.......(infentisimal list).
No prejudice, which you did show, is good or worth perpetuating. Are we to 
forget those men who died(regretabbly) because they were on the wrong side?
