I saw an interview a while back (perhaps 6 mo?) which quoted Garcia as saying that they were contractually obliged to do just one more album for Arista; also that they hadn't been too happy with Arista and that was one of the reasons that there hadn't been an album for some time. Also speaking of Arista, does anyone know what the deal is with Reckoning? It seems to have vanished, but then something called "For the Faithful" (or some such title) appeared in a few places, with the same set of songs as on "Reckoning". It's as if the album was re-released with a different title and cover. The logic, let alone the economics, of such a move escapes me. Curiously, Dead Set (which is really a companion to Reckoning) seems to have suffered no comparable fate. -- Dick Dunn {hao, ucbvax, allegra}!nbires!rcd (303)444-5710 x3086 ...Never attribute to malice what can be adequately explained by stupidity.
