I believe it's from Sir James Jeans, but I'm not sure: "The universe is not only stranger than we imagine, it is stranger than we CAN imagine". - From the Crow's Nest - Kenn Barry NASA-Ames Research Center Moffett Field, CA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I may also be mistaken, but I believe the quotation is of J.B.Haldane, a founder of mathematical genetics. His biography is very interesting; he also wrote some religious essays, one in a series including others by well-known intellectuals (eg Russell). He was something of a Christian mystic. Another such religious scientist (Quaker), who also wrote some very interesting essays, is Arthur Eddington, who first tested the general theory of relativity by observing the gravitational deflection of starlight near the massive Sun.
