But in a somewhat opposite way. After seeing some of the articles from Williams, I was tempted to chalk it up to "more of the same" from him. But after reading his articles on what he called "egocentricity" not being a reasonable basis for scientific study, and on how some people deliberately reject such study in favor of their own perceptions (and preconceptions) being labelled as "reality", I found a surprise: a man who may at times speak like an Arndt, but one who really has something to say. And I can identify with frustrations in communications with people who refuse to accept such notions about reality in favor of their own preconceptions. I might not let those frustrations get to me in the same way that they might have gotten to Williams, but some experiences have brought me pretty close indeed. Sign me, "been there". I didn't find Sunny's postings deserving of a shredding, but I have to respect Williams' effort in attempting to show certain preconceptions in them. And I have to identify in some respect with the frustrations one experiences when debating such things and the mental states that such discussions might leave one in. -- "Discipline is never an end in itself, only a means to an end."
