Please do report when you have the verdict, as I have encountered the
same problem on a 3030 which I have now returned for a refund. Then 
I bought a 2020, which works great. However, my parents also bought a
2020, which is displaying the same symptoms. I can get it to play by
executing a "hardware reset", ie, dropping it from an inch or less onto the
table.
