It's not the tapes, because most of them are TDKs and Maxells, with the few random ones from my unwiser days. Basically, I record something, and all goes well for a while, then strange clicks appear on the tapes, similar to the sound of a bad scratch on a record. These in fact appear to be scratches on the tape(?), because they are still there if I re-record the tape. I suspect it's because I don't clean my heads enough (no flames, please! I'm changing my evil ways!) or I'm just not doing a good job when I do clean it. Could this be the problem, and if not, then what?
