They sell a separate rubber cleaner (RC-1) which you use to un-sticky the pinch roller. Then you use a head cleaner (HC-1) to clean the capstan and heads. This can be done with about 3 swabs in 1 minute on a cassette deck where things are accessible. The rubber cleaner is particularly important - it conditions the roller and increases its life. It also helps to eliminate flutter caused by tape sticking to the roller. (In extreme cases, a sticky roller will just plain eat your tape!) Steve Falco AT&T Bell Laboratories Whippany NJ
