The path program on my system could not find the author, when I tried to reply, so I'm posting a followup. I would stay away from surplus Jeeps now. Long gone is the time you could get real surplus Jeeps from the Army. ie. Willys and Jeep Corp. military versions. There are no civilian versions of the Mutt and other small four wheel drives that the Army uses now. Before you could just remove the 24 Volt electrical systems on the military versions and replace them with corresponding 12 Volt civilian systems. Here is a list of the older military Jeeps and their civilian counterparts: MB ---> CJ2A M38 ---> CJ3A M38A1 ---> CJ5 (1955 - 1965 4 cyl.) Parts are still readily available for the CJ (Civilian Jeep) and therefore can be used to maintain the older military versions too.
