If you're in New Jersey doing this, you're breaking the law. It is illegal to drive in the left lane if there is room to drive in the lane immediately to your right !!! I'm sure this law is in effect in other states also. It's called STAY RIGHT, PASS LEFT. The only time you can be in the left lane legally is for passing or in bumper to bumper traffic.
